The “МС Пеленг 3,5/8А ” was the first fisheye for many of us making 360° VR imaging back in the ’90s. It’s really bad with internal flares but can be a very accurate, high-definition lens if used well. Its own image circle is a tad more than 24mm leaving very few black angles on APS-c and not being a complete circle on 24×36.
Looking for confirmation on data (11 elements in 7 groups?) and lens diagram
I’m looking forward to some info on this lens history. First of all the exact market introduction date…
keep in mind this lens has a rear screw-on filter and has to be sold with its filter set, or at least with its clear filter installed in the back. Even if your copy was not built on Mondays or Fridays, it still rattles when you shake it and flares and will be a pain with its old-school pre-selection aperture ring. Nonetheless, it will be able to deliver breathtaking images.
